Team Advisor Program

Team Advisor was originally created to help managers, internal consultants, and change agents develop and sustain high performance teams. Drawn from years of experience gained from working in the field, the program emphasizes developing effective consulting skills, change management techniques, high performance work system implementation and diagnostic methods for helping team members address interpersonal, performance, and conflict related issues. Some of the specific topics covered in the workshop include:

  • Consulting ethics
  • Open systems theory
  • The essentials of management support
  • The Transformation Pathway--the process of implementing high performance teams
  • Key considerations in designing a team
  • Managing the transition of the managerial role
  • The 13 Disciplines of highly effective teams
  • The essentials of setting team boundary conditions
  • Diagnosing team problems
  • Using action research
  • The most common team traps
  • The essentials for designing a new reward system
  • Developing influencing skills
  • Creating a performance matrix
  • Unique challenges of geographically diverse teams

Participants develop their knowledge and skills through case studies, small group exercises, experiential learning, and direct application to "real life" organization issues.
