Virtual Team

Teams today are expected to form quickly, complete their work swiftly, and then disband or take on a new project. While technology expands the workable distance between team members, technology alone cannot ensure team effectiveness. The Virtual Team program outlines the steps for creating a remote high performance team and helps your team overcome the difficulties it might encounter due to the loss of traditional face-to-face communication.

Virtual Team Program

Rayner & Associates will provide training to virtual teams in a 2-3 day training program. Team members work together to build rapport and develop a clear understanding of the team charter, boundary conditions, operating guidelines, communication linkages, decision making protocol, and virtual meeting effectiveness.

The Virtual Team participant workbook contains step-by-step instructions, flowcharts, and templates to guide your virtual team's design, implementation and operation. The six modules and 13 Disciplines Assessment will help your team navigate the four phases of remote team development: start-up, development, performance, and conclusion. Modules include:

  • Module 1: Preparation and Start-Up
  • Module 2: Team Building
  • Module 3: Team Charter
  • Module 4: Operating Guidelines
  • Module 5: Boundary Conditions
  • Module 6: Meetings and Decision Making
  • Assessment: The 13 Disciplines

Like all of our workshops, Virtual Team is structured to make the best use of training time through hands-on activities and learning-by-doing. A face-to-face training session can be an invaluable teambuilding opportunity for virtual team members who may see each other only occasionally--if at all.
